Woodspeen Training welcomes new Government

Today we welcome a new party into Government. Labour’s win in this election signals a change across the country, with a focus on rebuilding and serving the national interest. Nowhere is more visible than with the skills agenda.

Labour’s plan to establish Skills England, bringing together businesses, training providers, and unions, alongside national and local government to create a highly trained workforce is something Woodspeen Training is very much looking forward to being a part of. Our own conversations with employers across England have shown that businesses are in need of employees with skills that are relevant to the sectors that are operating in. Apprenticeships are a key tool to support this need and one which is already being harnessed by businesses across the country.

The apprenticeships offered by Woodspeen Training have been carefully selected to support sectors struggling to recruit and retain staff. Our courses offer a sustainable career pathway that is accessible to both new and current staff members. Allowing businesses to create workforce plans that enable staff and business growth.

Labour has also signalled that they will be looking to reform the Apprenticeship Levy. The Levy has enabled many people to access apprenticeship programmes, either directly or through Levy Transfer agreements. We are interested to see the detail behind this proposal to understand how it could impact our learners and employers.

This new Government brings with it opportunities to reshape and reaffirm the skills landscape. Woodspeen Training will be keeping abreast of any changes and will be working to support both learners and employers throughout this exciting time.
